The postman always rings twice

There I was having a very nice ordinary day. AC came home from trucking and we went outside. I did bathroom things and we fooled around. We went into the office and did paperwork and yelled at a few people on the phone. We Like doing that. AC went to the kitchen for lunch and DC and I went out to inspect the neighborhood. All was quiet. No one even to annoy me or bark at. Back in the house me and AC were gonna nap in front of the tv. I heard the mailman pull up and then the doorbell rang twice. DC and I went to the door. I always answer the door with her in case of a problem- my job. It was the mailman with a gigantic box. My heart jumped. It was addressed to me from one of my FMs[they both taught me to read]. I'm a little handicapped so DC helped me open it. And there it was, a treasure trove! So much stuff I don't know where to begin. Lets see- a lifesaver super grand retriever toy-a bottle buddy with a bottle all ready in it-a huge bag of sweet potato chewz from Levy's Deli on Delancey Street-a jar of Venison Liver bites, kosher for passover-a giant dinosaur bone soaked in Jack Daniels and bbq sauce- and finally- be still my heart- an exact duplicate of the Darth Vader chew toy that Magee had the other day. Totally unbelievable. Is it Christmas? My birthday? Easter? Hanukah? It is St. Patricks Day, but I'm Jewish not Irish. Oh no, it must be my Bar Mitzvah. I'm so embarrassed, I completely forgot. I still have all those foreign words to learn. And the old teacher has the most horrible breath. Maybe I'll cut class today and play with all my new stuff. Fms are  SSSSSSUPER HEROS TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love to my FMs, Tank

Methane gas and Foreign films

Tank here,
As a young growing bullie, who eats a lot, I occasionally  have gas. AC & DC make it seem like the world is going to end. Today I had a tiny little gas, they ran out of the room and came back wearing HAZMAT suits and scuba tanks. I was very humiliated. They don't always smell so great either.
Anyway, one day a week DC goes out on a hunting and gathering trip. Food, treats, toys, cleaning stuff. So since I'm glued to her when she's here, hunt and gather day is my time to bond with AC. Last Sunday me and AC spent the morning watching foreign dog movies. We cuddled up on the floor and started with Turner and Hooch. It is an action cop flick with a Mastiff  from France. Very good movie, Hooch dies but has kids to carry on his craziness. Next we watched  K9 with a Shepherd from Germany. Lots of action , Jerry Lee[shepherd] gets shot but lives and winds up with the hottest pink Poodle[French of course]. Last we watched Marley and me. No action, some comedy, a real tear jerker.  Marley is a Retriever from Labrador. Where is Labrador? Poor Marley dies at the end and everyone cries, including me and AC .  All 3 are great movies, well written, and have great 4 legged acting. But can't anyone make an American dog movie. I'm still waiting to hear from Lucas or Spielberg about my super hero movie. Maybe I need a new agent. Foghorn Leghorn just doesn't have the right contacts.
I've been following my pal Magee on his blog. The latest pictures of him are really good. Looks like his health is improving daily. He had this really great looking chicken squeak toy, so AC picked one up today. I had a great time flinging it around and making it squeak. So far it is still intact, but very badly bitten.
I wanted to post more pictures but MC the camera guy here is out. MC is the other son of AC&DC. Hey, AC+DC=MC, I'm a real Einstein. Anyway more pictures to follow. I'm getting very big from DC's great cooking. I'm here at my permanent home just 6 weeks but it seems longer because I'm so happy and comfy.
I got a big new house with a mattress  with paw prints and a leopard blanket. I ordered a new flatscreen TV for it and Viking appliances. Should be here in a couple days . I outgrew my other house quickly. I won't ever outgrow this one.
Anyone who wants to visit my friend Magee can do so at www.MageeBMF.blogspot.com. He's a terrific guy and loves visitors and comments. See you all soon

A letter to Magee

This is a letter to Magee from me (Tank) to let him know how life is after you get a forever family. I hope your FM will read it to you.

On March 4th, I'll will be with my forever parents for 1 whole month. So far, I've got a new BIG crate, a BIG mattress , my own 2 blankets on MY couch and lots of new toys (along with my favorite old ones).

Mom puts me to bed at 11 PM and then tries to get me up at 7 AM. I finally got her to understand that I don't have any reason to wake up and get out of my crate at 7 AM unless I get my breakfast. After breakfast we go outside, she has breakfast and then we go outside AGAIN no matter what the weather is. I guess she likes fresh air, cold, rain (???). In the morning I play a lot and since I'm a growing boy, I REALLY need my morning nap. When Dad comes home we play. We both get tired (at least Dad does), so I make believe I'm tired too so Dad can take a nap.(This is Mom: both take a nap and snore together.)Before and after dinner, either Mom or Dad play with me. In the evening I watch TV with Mom (Mom again: Mom wtches TV and Tank sleeps beside her chair).

All of this is good, but when I'm outside I have a JOB to do. First, if I see or hear a neighbor, I let them know with a bark or two that I'm here and this place is mine forever. Next, I inspect the yard to know if any birds, squirrels, chipmunks, opossums, or raccoons were in the yard while I was inside. They have to learn and know that I'm guarding MY property and keep Mom and Dad safe. I even sometimes carry a stick around in case I have to defend Mom or Dad from the neighbors or wildlife.

Now I'm a little puzzled. I heard Mom telling Dad that I have to learn COMMANDS. What the heck are they? She says that I already know "Give". I give (?) her my toy, rotten acorns, chewies, etc. whenever she says the word. I can't figure out why she wants them. She doesn't eat the acorns or leaves and later she gives me back the saliva encrusted toys and chewies. Is this an example of a command? Lately, Mom has been using "Come" a lot and when I run to her, I get a treat. Is this another command?

All in all, I'm really, REALLY happy with my forever family. There isn't anything I need anymore or be afraid of. My parents always tell me I'm a good boy. Of COURSE I am. I've never had an accident in the house or destroyed anything. I've done my best to be friends with Chewie and Puff (they're cats), but I think they're still afraid of me because I seem to be getting bigger every day, or so Dad says.
Oh, one more thing, Mom seems to know my name, but she calls me other things such as big baby, sweetie pie, silly goose, etc. I finally got Mom to agree that she can call me those names at home, but not in public. It would be so EMBARRASSING. She has to remember that I'm BIG, MANLY, a BULLMASTIFF. I have to draw the line sometimes!

I'm so glad to hear that you're (Magee) doing better every day. I know that once you're ready for your forever home, your FM will find you great forever parents. She did for ME!
